I have always loved the look of a glass top coffee table and find them one of the most elegant pieces of furniture one could use to enhance their living room. When my parents were in the market for new living room furniture I'd beg to go with them even choosing that activity over playing outside with my siblings. Being surrounded by all those choices of tables from an ornate glass coffee table to a simple accent table fueled my interest in decorating from a very early age. There was an antique furniture store near our home that specialized in American colonial furniture. Most owners of furniture stores would have been very thrilled about an over eager little kid running from one glass top coffee table to another putting greasy little finger prints on the glass. However the owners of this particular furniture store welcomed me with open arms only cautioning me not to run helter-skelter like a bull in a china shop so as not to hurt myself or damage any of the glass. They were passionate as well about any glass top table and they liked nothing more than to see someone so young take an interest in their passion. They took me under their wings to teach me all that they knew. Soon I could sprout off the merits of any particular accent table or console tables explaining why one or the other was a good choice. As you can guess this childhood fascination blossomed into a career in home dcor and interior design. I am the go to guy whenever someone ambles in the furniture store I am employed in and I can answer any question posed to me when someone is researching choices for their glass top coffee table. The only precaution I offer to homeowners who like the look of a glass top coffee table is for them to decide if they prefer style over comfort, since this a glass table is more suited to an elegant form of design expression and not that homeowner who wants to come home and relax propping their foot upon their coffee table. If that is your preference than you are better off purchasing an ottoman or trunk which lends a more casual feel to your living room.
